Ict war in Nigeria

GANIZATIONAL (TEAM) WARFARE You may have brilliant ideas, you may be able to invent unbeatable strategies–but if the group that you lead, and that you depend on to execute your plans, is unresponsive and uncreative, and if its members always put their personal agendas first, your ideas will mean nothing. You must learn the lesson of war: it is the structure of the army–the chain of command and the relationship of the parts to the whole–that will give your strategies force. The primary goal in war is to build speed and mobility into the very structure of your army. That means having a single authority on top, avoiding the hesitancy and confusion of divided leadership. It means giving soldiers a sense of the overall goal to be accomplished and the latitude to take action to meet that goal; instead of reacting like automatons, they are able to respond to events in the field. Finally, it means motivating soldiers, creating an overall esprit de corps that gives them irresistible momentum. With forces organized in this manner, a general can adapt to circumstances faster than the enemy can, gaining a decided advantage. This military model is extremely adaptable to any group. It has one simple requirement: before formulating a strategy or taking action, under

PRE-FEASIBILITY REPORT ON STANDARD MECHANISED GARRI PRODUCTION PLANT
PRE-FEASIBILITY REPORT ON STANDARD MECHANIZED GARRI PRODUCTION PLANT

This pre-feasibility report is on the production of clean healthy and standard Garri using complete mechanized Standard machines and process.

CAPACITY

The plant will have an installed capacity to produce 3MT of Garri per day but production will commence at 2MT per day amounting to 600MT per annum working at 300 days in a single shift.

The plant is being envisaged to package 3 types of Garri commonly sold in the Nigerian Market which are the Red oil Garri, Sour and the white Garri. Packaging shall be in branded size bags
Pricing and weight of the products would compete favorably with the ones sold in the market.

The core raw material for the plant is cassava which is available in sufficient quantity and at all year round in Nigeria. It is noteworthy that Nigeria produces the highest quantity of Cassava in the world. The other materials used by the plant is water and packaging nylons or bags

THE MARKET

The overall potential of Garri processing in Nigeria is huge. The weekly consumption of Garri in Nigeria is estimated at N9BILLION Naira. Production of Garri in Nigerian is predominantly on the micro scale and production is carried in the entire country.

However, Mechanized production is gradually replacing the manual process which is tedious and require more labour. The efficiency and standard of products from the manual and crude production method is also questioned as most local producers uses contaminated and rusty machines to produce their commodity hence placing doubt on the health and standard status of the commodity.

This plant to be used are designed to pass the SON and NAFDAC certifications, which means that its products can also be exported.

PROCESS

All Garri production whether mechanized or otherwise goes through the same process
• Cassava are washed and pealed
• Pealed cassava are then chopped or grated
• Grated cassava are then allowed to ferment for period depending on the
type of Garri being produced(Note that Oil can be added at this stage if
red garri is to be produced)
• The fermented cassava are not pressed to dry form
• The dry form are fried to Garri
• The fried Garri can then go through sieving or dry grinding depending on
the level of coarseness planned
• The product is packed and ready to ship

Mechanization ensures optimal productivity, reduction of waste, uses less labour, quality of product, more quantity is produced for an optimized production time

LOCATION

The plant will be located near any major commodity market where cassava is largely sold or near cassava farm gates. This ensures that cost of transportation of raw materials would not impede on the overall delivery cost of product.

However, the plant can also be located in an urban area nearer to the consumption market. The best way to beat raw materials delivery cost in this model would be to acquire a vehicle so you can buy at farm gate prices i.e direct from farmers.

An ample space is needed for operation as the plant would require a raw material store and a finished goods storage facility. A standard plot of land is the minimum required for an effective production management.

CORE PRODUCTION MACHINERY REQUIREMENT

All the parts that have contact with cassava are made of stainless steel to ensure quality and excellence., which is the standard requirement for producing SON and NAFDAC approved food processed and packaged in Nigeria. The machines are produced here in Nigeria.

o Cassava peeling machine
o Stainless Steel Hammer Mill with electric Motor. For grating Cassava
tuber(can also be used as the granulator)
o Fermentation Rack/Mechanical Press with hydraulic Jack for de-watering
Fermented Cassava Mash.
o Garri Frying Unit with gear motor, exhaust pipe, covered with Fiber
glass, can be fired with firewood, charcoal, gas etc.
o Medium Size Hammer Mill for milling dried Garri into fine particles.
o Sealer
o Stainless Steel Storage Silo for finished product(Optional)

The plant would require 6 workers and 2 daily laborers

The product is hygroscopic (it absorbs moisture from the air) and should be packed in airtight and moisture-proof bags, especially in areas of high humidity, to prevent mold growth.

FINANCE

This Plant makes uses of a fully mechanized processing method that brings efficiency and reduces waste and labour requirement. The startup capital excluding Land and infrastructure is between 4million Naira and 7 Million Naira. However to achieve reduction on setup cost the scale can be reduced or some of the process like peeling can be manually done, but this would require more labour hands.

The project will generate profit beginning from the first year of operation. Relevant ratios such as the percentage of net profit to total sales return on equity and return on total investment shows a promising returns. Percent gross on sales in the industry is about between 60% and 75%, overall profitability of the plant then would depend on how promoters manages its administrative expenses

Investment cost and income statement projection are used in estimating the project payback period. The projects will payback fully the initial investment in 2 years or less.
